Adrian Mall is an enclosed shopping mall serving Adrian, Michigan. It opened in 1970 and features two anchor stores: Hobby Lobby and Elder-Beerman. ==History== Adrian Mall opened on September 3, 1970. At the time, the mall included Sears and F.W. Woolworth Company as its anchor stores, with J. C. Penney opening as the third anchor in April 1971. In 1985, the mall underwent a $1.5 million renovation, which included the addition of an Elder-Beerman department store. The mall underwent several ownership changes in the 2000s. General Growth Properties bought it in 2002, CBL & Associates Properties bought it in 2008, and it was sold again to Jones Lang LaSalle in 2010. In December 2014 the Adrian Mall was sold again to Texas based Tabani Group for an undisclosed amount. The mall lost several stores in 2009, including a Waldenbooks and one of the last remaining Sam Goody stores. Sears closed in 2012. In 2013, renovations plans were announced which included the conversion of part of the Sears store to a new Hobby Lobby and the expansion of MC Sports' existing store. J. C.
